Meet Our Truckload Staff

Meet Our Truckload Staff

Truckload StaffSourcing truckload capacity can be a real nightmare for shippers. It takes a lot of time making multiple phone calls to carriers, searching for the right equipment and drivers in the right place at the right time, and ensuring your selected trucker has the proper operating authority and safety rating – not to mention finding a fair, affordable price. Well, the good news is you have an experienced Logistics Plus team that is ready to help – from planning to delivery, and everything in between.

Logistics Plus has truckload specialists located in offices across North America; but most of our load coordination comes from the truckload brokerage staff located at our Global Headquarters in Erie, PA. It wasn’t easy, but we recently pried most of them away from their computers and telephones for a quick photograph so that we could introduce them to you.

Shown in the photograph are (right-to-left):

  • Bobby Rosa – truckload specialist
  • Colin Seth – truckload coordinator
  • Beverly Lazar – truckload specialist
  • Libby O’Hara – truckload operations manager
  • Abby Perez – truckload specialist
  • Amanda Gannoe –truckload specialist
  • Gary Picheco – truckload specialist
  • Jeremy Chaffee – truckload solutions manager
  • Craig Warnshuis – director, domestic operations

(You can also find any of these individuals using our friendly, online global directory)

This group coordinates daily with hundreds of shippers and thousands of national, regional and specialized freight carriers to secure capacity, find the best rates, create bills of lading, schedule pickups, track loads, and everything else that comes with shipping full and partial truckloads within and across North America. Whether you need standard or expedited delivery service, domestic or cross-border – this team has you covered. They can also secure whatever equipment type you need, including dry vans, step decks, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers. Need cargo van, “hot shot” expedited, intermodal, or domestic air service? This team can do all of that too.

Securing reliable capacity and finding safe carriers can be a time-consuming and daunting task for many shippers. When you work with Logistics Plus, you get access to over 5,000 pre-screened carriers – all with verified operating authorities and safety records. In the rare cases where we can’t find the right carrier, we have access to all of the industry’s top load boards – and specialists who know how to use them to find the right carrier in the right location at the right price.

One way this group stays organized and efficient is by using our proprietary eShipPlus™ transportation management system (TMS). Customers can also sign-up for a free eShipPlus.com user account in order to obtain visibility to all of their freight shipments, pay invoices, run customized reports, and more. Since eShipPlus is fully integrated with Macropoint®, customers can also purchase real-time, continuous tracking information for their critical loads.

If you haven’t yet worked with the Logistics Plus truckload brokerage staff, give them a try by requesting a free, no-obligation quick quote on your next full or partial truckload shipment. Putting the “Plus” in Logistics Plus – Hand Carry Service to Scotland

Putting the “Plus” in Logistics Plus – Hand Carry Service to Scotland

Erie to GlasgowPeople often ask us what the “Plus” in Logistics Plus means. Although it can be difficult to put into words, we often say the “plus” represents all of the extra little things we do to help our customers be successful – whether that means someone working late to track a shipment, assigning a dedicated resource to work on a project, or providing some training on trade compliance regulations.

Yes, these are all things we do, but nothing is more representative of the “plus” than an actual example. Many of these “true examples” go unnoticed and undocumented since it is just the way we go about our business here at Logistics Plus. However, from time to time, we get a customer who takes the time to acknowledge something special one of our employees has done, and it really helps shine a light on some pretty cool stuff our people will do to get the job done.

Take Emily Grein, a logistics specialist and member of our International services staff. On Thursday of last week, Emily received a call from one of our customer’s customers. Apparently, a production line in Scotland was going to shut down if a special part in Erie, Pennsylvania was not delivered immediately. Emily, with her passport in hand, volunteered to pick up the part, drive it to the Cleveland airport in a total snow blizzard, and then fly to Glasgow, Scotland where she personally delivered the part the next day.

In the end, the customer avoided a costly production line shut-down for which they were very happy. In fact, the external sales manager for the company wrote the following testimonial back to us to say … “We (all) endured a really difficult few days last week, in relation to supply of critical goods to a key customer.  I’d like to say thanks to Emily, who had a real difficult journey in getting the goods to us.  After a serious amount of hours traveling, with very little sleep, I couldn’t believe how friendly and pleasant she managed to be, at the point of arrival. …. I’m not convinced I could have achieved this.  It goes without saying, and I’m pretty certain you’ll agree, you’re really fortunate to have a work colleague and an asset, that is Emily Grein.”

That, my friends, is how we put the “plus” in Logistics Plus. Contact us if you need our hand-carry service for a critical shipment.

Congratulations to our newest Licensed Customs Broker!

Congratulations to our newest Licensed Customs Broker!

Licensed Customs BrokerAll of us here at Logistics Plus would like to congratulate Gretchen Blough, our Import Compliance Specialist, on a very important achievement. This past week, Gretchen earned her Customs Broker License through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of International Trade. Gretchen put in a lot of hard work and many hours of studying into earning this certification. It will serve her well as we continue to grow Logistics Plus global trade compliance services.

Customs brokers are private individuals, partnerships, associations or corporations licensed, regulated and empowered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assist importers and exporters in meeting Federal requirements governing imports and exports. Brokers submit necessary information and appropriate payments to CBP on behalf of their clients and charge them a fee for this service.

Brokers must have expertise in the entry procedures, admissibility requirements, classification, valuation, and the rates of duty and applicable taxes and fees for imported merchandise. There are approximately 11,000 active licensed Customs brokers in the United States.

If you’re reading this article and you are with a business that has import/export shipping needs, please let us help you with this very complex, but important part of global logistics. Logistics Plus can help you with importing and exporting services, compliance management, international traffic regulations, harmonized system training, NAFTA audits, duty drawbacks, and more. We promise that Gretchen, and the rest of our compliance team, will give you that extra “plus” attention you need to be successful in all aspects of global trade compliance!
