Management Information Systems: Intern

Duties & Responsibilities

The major duties include assisting the MIS Director in various tasks that include, but are not limited to:

  - Assist the MIS Director with administrative and technical functions.

  - Responsible for maintaining servers and workstations as requested by the MIS Director

  - Perform System diagnosis and resolving problems with printers, copiers, fax machines and networks

  - Provide help-desk and on-site technical support of hardware and software

North American Division (NAD) Operations:  Intern

Position works directly with Operations and Accounting.  The primary responsibilities include some customer service & phone work, data entry, documentation retrieval and vendor relations support.  Candidate will require good communication skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.  Experience with Access, Excel, Word and the internet would be a definite plus.

 

International Operations (Exports):  Intern

The primary responsibilities include creating database records, starting physical files, acquiring documentation, distributing documentation for operations and accounting backup, monitoring shipment status to forward files to accounting for invoicing; tracking files and maintaining file archives.  Candidate will require good communication skills, a willingness to learn, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.  Experience with Access would be a definite plus.

 

International Operations (Imports):  Intern

The primary responsibilities include preparing marine insurance certificates, creating database records, starting physical files, monitoring arrival status of shipments, preparing arrival notices and collecting proofs of delivery for delivered shipments.  Candidate will require good communication skills, a willingness to learn, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.  Experience with Access would be a definite plus.

 

North American Division (NAD) Accounting:  Intern

Position works directly with Operations and Accounting to expedite customer invoicing.  The primary responsibilities include data entry in various systems, obtaining shipment information & documents from carrier web sites or customer service departments, assisting with the research for balance due invoices, mailing invoices, occasional filing.  Candidate will require good communication skills, a willingness to learn, ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, and flexibility.  Experience with Access, Excel, Word and the internet would be a definite plus.

 

International Accounting:  Intern

The primary responsibilities include creating customer invoices in Accpac, printing copies of invoices & scanning invoices to customers, shipment research in various data bases, entering vendor invoices in Accpac, review statements of accounts, and various filing.  Candidate will require good communications skills, a willingness to learn, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.  Microsoft Access experience not necessary but Accpac experience preferred.

 

Corporate Accounting:  Intern

The primary responsibilities include invoicing, accounts payable and finance/operations.  Invoicing includes creating invoices in Accpac, compiling required documents, and mailing these documents to customers.  Accounts Payable includes auditing freight bills for accuracy, entering freight bills into Accpac and updating costs in various data bases, matching payments to vendor invoices and generating a job costing report.
